About the Restaurant

VISTA offers diners a comfortable, casual atmosphere with upscale service. The restaurant attracts both tourists and loyal locals; it is a space where anyone can feel at home. During the summer, a wraparound, flower-filled terrace features striking views of the golf course as well as a serene brook and waterfall. In the winter months, diners are welcomed by the warmth of a large fireplace, a grand-lodge feel and a snow-covered mountainside. VISTA is open for lunch and dinner in the summer, dinner only in the winter, and provides a venue for small and large parties alike to host special occasions of any kind.

About the Cuisine

Holding a AAA “Three Diamond” designation, VISTA changes its menus seasonally to offer the freshest Colorado fare available. Fresh Alaskan Halibut is a summertime staple while Yellowfin Tuna is on the menu year-round. Braised meats like Short Ribs and Lamb Osso Bucco are also available throughout the season or as a special. We have options for gluten-free diners, seasonal vegetarian dishes and a dedicated Children’s Menu, with staples like Chicken Tenders and Mini-Burgers or high-end dishes like Petite Filet Mignon and Grilled Salmon. In addition, VISTA has earned Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” for multiple years because of its extensive, international wine list that is considered the most reasonably priced in the Vail Valley.

OUR PIANO MAN

True fans will track you down. That’s what local piano man Micky Poage quickly learned after he started tickling the keys at VISTA after an over forty-year run in Vail. Poage played at Micky’s, a room in The Lodge at Vail, up until August 2011. The space was remodeled to make way for Elway’s. When he left, there were tears all around, but Poage and his Yamaha grand piano landed fifteen or so miles west, at VISTA. He has been with us ever since. One of his signature pieces is on the video on our homepage!
